Why We Serve

Why We Serve

We steward God’s grace by using our spiritual gifts to serve the Church for His glory.

God has saved us from sin and for good works. According to His eternal purpose of grace, Christ saved us so we can walk in newness of life as a redeemed family. We are freed from the penalty and power of sin to carry out the good works He prepared in advance for us. By purifying us through His blood, He has made us a people for His own possession, devoted to good works. God’s grace transforms us into new people with a new identity and a new way of life.
(Titus 2:11-14, Ephesians 2:8-10, Galatians 6:7-10, Philippians 2:12-13, Romans 12:3-8, Acts 2:42-47, Acts 4:32-37)

The Spirit bestows various gifts to build up the Church.

God graciously bestows spiritual gifts upon each believer according to His will, for the good of the body of Christ. The Holy Spirit distributes these gifts to each one as He determines, and every unique part of the body is essential. When all believers serve according to their gifts, the Church is strengthened and built up by the power and grace of God.
(1 Corinthians 12-14, Ephesians 4:1-16)

Serving the local church is a stewardship of God's grace.

Being a part of Jesus’ family, the church, is a gift, and using our spiritual gifts is an act of faithful stewardship of God’s grace. When we serve faithfully, by God’s power, He is glorified, the Church is built up in love and maturity, we carry out the great commandment, and the great commission, and the world sees God’s grace and power revealed through Jesus Christ.

We serve on mission to carry out the Great Commission.

As followers of Christ, we are called to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to obey everything Jesus has commanded. Serving on mission is an integral part of our calling as believers. Whether in our local communities or around the world, we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to share the Gospel and demonstrate the love of Christ. We fulfill this mission both through personal engagement and through our ministry partnerships, both locally and globally, working together in community and as a team to extend the reach of the Gospel. Every believer is sent out to participate in God’s redemptive mission, proclaiming the good news of salvation and being the hands and feet of Jesus to a broken world.
(Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8, Romans 10:14-15, 2 Corinthians 5:18-20)
